GAYNESS AND BLACKNESSI was going to cover "when it all goes wrong " next but ive decided to digress first I don't "bat for the other side " , nor am i anything other than a flabby white middle aged staff member.....but if your gay and/0r black/brown/asian etc etc and are considering working for the club please read on. Both clubs employ openly gay staff as HSA/AW and managers.....after all it is a CAMP club after all ( sorry had to slip that one in ..couldn't resist it..sorry...sorry ). That said a few things should be considered 1 Club members, and staff who are drawn from the same gene pool ,tend towards the typical stereotype of Daily mail reader /Ukip voter .Their idea of gay folk will have come from watching Are you being served and Brideshead revisted. 2 Have you noticed that campsite rarely get black / asian / Chinese campers, wonder why? its because its considered deeply uncool. If you get a group of Pakistani lads camping its probably a team building exercise for a terrorist outrage they are going to commit So if you've got a thick skin and don't mind cleaning the bogs of white homophobic racists go ahead but don't blame me.

IF IT ALL GOES WRONG
So your a first year with your contract in your eager hands, wonder what happened with the person your replacing?
Both clubs churn a high number of staff each year. A few people retire some get sacked but most run off /run away from sites.
SO a few tips are needed
1 Try to last a whole month which will give you time to make a more accurate decision . 2 keep your mouth shut and avoid taking sides in any "campsite politics " 3 If your a first year remember that you've been given the dregs of the positions ,and next year ( if you can last ), you will be better placed to get a campsite you like 4 iIf you really cant stay speak to your manager/warden ( even if you hate em ). 5 Follow the clubs policy about grievances, remember emails are good as they cant be twisted/denied later. 6 Remember the CC will want £250 back outa your wages to cover training costs..the C&CC will claim back the cost of uniform provided 7 Be reasonable, avoid letting things get out of hand with other staff!! bite your tongue till it bleeds 8 Clubs move people around early season if "personalty clashes" happen,a process exists within each club to move staff, ask if your not happy and keep asking if they stall with excuses and " meetings to clear the air " . 9 Both clubs like to employ staff who have completed a year in another club so its useful to have it in your CV...a good reason to hang on in there for a full season and then leave.
hope these help if you've any more questions please ask away
