A few managers and company trolls have posted on here how difficult it is to run a shop onsite.
The usual things are trotted out,"we have to pay for the stock","we havetp pay for the gas stock/order icecreams and gas,".Pickup sweets" "we have purchase chillers etcetc"
I work in a CC site so I can tell you how easy it is... A few truths
1 when all the staff benefit from sales all staff are happy to serve at all hours
2,even on small sites its easy for end of summer profits to be around £1000 per couple
3 busy "holiday type sites",can even approach £3000 per couple which encourages staff to apply to work in these stressful sites
4 accounting is easy, all cash taken is kept in a cash box in the safe with a small ledger detailing payments out for gas/ice creams sweets etc and payments in when the counter sales box is overflowing
5 the cash box and ledger is everyone's property and can and should be read by anyone at any time
6 wardens usually take a pride in a well run shop as word soon gets around if they are not fair and open
7 shop share is always discussed at an early meeting of all site staff
8 end of season share is signed for( this protects the wards a being asked for tax on the full shop profits ifever HMRC decided to get snotty
9 its in the contract in bold letters that shop profits should be shared along with advise about tax liability
9a it really helps staff morale and is a no_brainer for Hr.it's a free and highly effective way for HR to get staff to work for no cost to the club
10. Tax. Aggggh. Don't worry.if this income is declared than you only pay income tax on profit( minus costs). And then only if you earn above the tax allowance which each couple has about £ 10000 of.by the way shop share is divided by two on any tax return but tax allowance is per person.
So don't let any managers lie to you
