So we have a site barrier for security.
This is to stop unauthorised entry.
So why are those at HQ now telling us to put the code for the security barrier in a box, for anyone to access as we are off duty from 8pm. This is for non bookers and those arriving late.
This means my brand new caravan can be nicked quite easily, as can anyone elses.
Not happy with this at all.
I have to ask why we have a barrier at all.

To prove we are not encouraged to stay on site during our unpaid call out periods we've removed all our site defib units from the office and placed em in cabinets in the site info rooms.along with the phones and new signage that should cover it

Anyone thinking of asking the club for back pay for years of forced unpaid evening work will be happy that the CCC have finally admitted in print that staff were made to work till 11pm
Where YOU MAY ASK!
Try the clubs April edition of the clubs magazine ."the latest attended arrival time has changed from 11pm to 8pm". DOH! now im not a lawyer but that sounds like a watertight confession to me

"staffed accordingly to cater for those arriving just after 8pm on friday"
why should the CCC have to change its late arrival policy of unattended arrivals which works well for the rest of the week.
and....how long is "JUST AFTER" for fooks sake.....jump to 9.30pm in the summer and your call-out phone rings whilst your in the pub and some dodgy camper is at the gate blathering on about"its just after"
God forbid the booking staff tell campers "just after" when they book

A few calls around the network soon shows what uproar they are in,HQ seems to be in a panic about how to show they have never forced anyone to work till 11pm and these one size fits all changes are going to cause chaos.
individual managers will resist and still bend the rules and if the club doesn't show due diligence and stop them they will still be open to prosecution
tell you what,Im not pegging my awning out till mid season so we can make a quick getta way

We still are not happy to go to the pub at 8.00pm as there is a real risk of coming back at 11.00 to a site full of travellers or other undisirables. It will happen sooner or later. Surely there must be a better way. There should be no barrier codes left out after 8.00pm.

It would be wise to look at the best practise across the industry. Many clubs/sites dont allow arrivals after 8pm and it seems to work successfully .For HSAs this introduction of your normal employment rights should be monitored closely, fear of "travellers and undesirables" might be used by poorly trained managers to encourage HSAs to work for free becoming a kind of unpaid security guards. if sites have a history of problems/latenight arrivals etc then it seems sensible to staff any office with paid staff during these periods .
It seems that the CCC unreasonable need to keep THE 11PM arrival is the problem. This poorly thought out unattended arrival system will cause problems all season

yes night shift you do,but its a lot better than being on unpaid call out from 8 till 11pm ...used as unpaid shop staff and checking folk in who have been told its ok to check in at 11pm. just remember that from 8pm till 10.45pm and from 11pm till start time its your time even if your on call out.

some of us who have started already this season are being told to actually work on site until 8 pm then check toilets at 10.30 and finally lock last century's iron gates at 11pm, so no evenings out to the pub until closing,

if your being paid till 8 and from 10.30 till 11pm and your not being "encouraged" to stay on site for late arrivals in between these times well done.Last year you might have not been paid and forced to stay on site all night to provide unpaid call out. are you having to work in the shop without a share/wages?

What can the assistants 'encouraged' do about it then? And what happens between 11pm and 9am? Who is being paid to be 'on call' then?
