Much news about ED's plans to raise the minimum wage to £8 an hour by the end of the next parliament (2020). the raise would mean a couple on 38 h contracts would get an extra £513 per couple per month thats 38bottles of GIN.
But hang on a bit before you order that cocktail shaker of Ebay.. Its been promised by 2020 and by that time the wage will be £ 7.20p anyway due to it being linked to the inflation rate. so its an extra 80p an hour by 2020 thats an extra £243 per couple per month...thats 18 bottles of GIN !!
This is all ok if the inflation rate stays low...if it rises ,( and the minumum wages rises automatically ), then the extra 80p might be lower than you would get automatically.
so it looks as if ill have to stick to the cheap Vermouth i smuggled back from Spain last season
