A friend who works for the CCC, has told us that their HQ has agreed to waive the 8pm rule for your Ready Campers. Is this true?
Next, you will be pitching up to 11pm. Oh sorry you do, don't you!!!
Glad we work for the "Dark Side". (BTW we are recruiting staff - see our Ad in the club mag)
Happy days

The previous comment was a bit harsh ,i thought. which ever club we work for we all get the same type of customer through the gates. Interesting if the ccc change last check in time....did they ever have one?...they seem to take anyone if they are waving cash...this is good business but they would have to pay staff to man the office ...are maybe they expect staff to wing it?
The interesting point to watch is the change to a "holiday club" with the emphasis on a mix of static units, static tents, pods, glamping etc etc etc.
I really think that the C&CC will be the first club to break ranks and be the first club to go fully commercial and abandon the club style.... they will continue to milk members for as long as they can ....but the decision has been taken i think

You mean to say this'll become a proper job, instead of a hidey-hole for tax exiles, malingerers and idle managers!! What with qualified people? An a legal contract wow! No wonder area managers are taking early retirement.

just checked out the new READY CAMP website page link below www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/readycamp/accommodation/#Eatingand it says the tents come with fridge/microwave/cutlery,plates etc....how longs it going to take to clean them,30 min -40 min each and have extra staff or extra hours been factored in to allow for this? the site also says latest check in is 8pm so thats ok then. I tried to ring the c&cc booking at 1pm but a message told me to leave a message and they will phone me back in 2 days !

My sources at the CCC confirm that the club appear to have unofficially extended this 8pm check in time, so they do not get any negative feedback. Of course the staff are still expected to work (unpaid - on standby) and no extra time allowance made on the shift.
As for cleaning, I understand that it takes 45-90 minutes, as despite how clean it looks, you would still be expected to wash and clean all cutlery, plates, saucepans etc
Of course we (CC) only have one site where these tents are (if I recall) and we are not expecting any more.

We at the CC have "pods" which every hates. they also have to be cleaned ad -hoc to fit in with members leaving site. They are only on a few sites and everyone hopes they will be a failure. The pods attract the same type of person that the ccc will get in stAtic tents. The Club CC isnt promoting them at all and to book them you have to phone the site direct. The bcc pods only have a bed and kettle so no cooking facilities and cutlery to clean but they are still left in a mess

Yes the Ready Camp tents are likely to be fun. We are one of the 17 sites that have them; the whole project has been totally disorganised from the start where nobody knew they were coming to now when it seems that they have not been erected properly!! The 'kit' boxes were incomplete and full details/instructions to sites were not received here until Monday 4th (they were supposed to be operational from 1st) I must have had at least 100 people asking for details and we just have to refer them to the internet. Only found out today exactly how to locate them and I am relatively intelligent staff member! I do not know of anyone who thinks these are a good idea, and there has been no provision for cleaning them - we have to build it in to our normal routine (even with the current shortage of staff) but then whoever gets to do it is paid an extra £10, even though it is in normal working hours, so I guess Manager's favourites (or Managers themselves) will be getting the extra dosh.
