I have been asked to spray weeds with Glyphosate, its the same stuff you can buy at the diy shops but ive read a recent article about it causing cancer.it seems that by law you have to have a qualification to use it . i gather the CCC let staff use it whilst the CC only let trained staff use it. Seems scientists are split about it being dangerous a recent SOP meeting of the CC decided that its safe to use with PPE and training article below www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3015329/Cancer-alert-chemical-Roundup-weedkiller.html

Seems that a bit of politics is involved. The chemical is made by MonSantos which, like many big companies, is a target of anti-this and anti that publicity. The stuff both clubs use can be bought without licence or by kids at any corner shop and you are free to do with it as you like(im not saying you should). If you use it commercially you fall under some regulation to be licensed/approved, if this is genuine or just another ass-saving safety policy is difficult to fathom as the chemical is freely available in diy shops.
HERE IS WHERE THE MONEY COMES IN
In the UK the chemical is only sold pre diluted in diy shops( if you take out the water you have bought its veryyy expensive)whilst on ebay you can buy it to dilute yourself.Ive bought it France on the shelves undiluted in DIY shops at a fair price.
seems that a gentleman's agreement which suits diy shops/government/ protesters keeps us out of pocket
